Happy Welcome!

I'm going to keep this blog private for now but I hope someday to make it more public.   I'm so excited about the health journey I am on and really want to share fun recipes and things I am doing so it may get someone else excited to give this journey a shot.

I choose the name "choosevibranthealth" for a reason!  First, the word "choose" is SO IMPORTANT to me.  The day things started changing for me was the day I figured out I could CHOOSE health.  I wasn't stuck being overweight, diabetic, and tired (exhausted, really).   I had thousands of opportunities everyday to CHOOSE to make healthy choices.   Did I really need to eat that candy in my classroom closet?  No, I could choose not to eat it.   I don't know what switched but suddenly I felt more in control and powerful....it's a cool feeling.

I was trying to think how I feel now that I've been eating this way for the last three months....a lot of adjectives came to mind but the one that fits me best is VIBRANT!   I just feel vibrant.  I just looked up the definition and it said, "full of energy and enthusiasm".   YEP, that's me....VIBRANT!!!

The last word health means a lot to me also.  What's the opposite of health?  Sickness...yes, I was sick.  I feel well now...I feel healthy now.    I have made lots of temporary changes in my life because of weight. I wanted to change my weight and when I didn't see changes fast enough, I gave up.   This time I'm doing it for HEALTH.   I will be honest, the weight hasn't fallen off.  I've only lost 15 pounds from my heaviest but instead of thinking of this as a reason to give up....I'm using it as just a fun side effect.   I would have loved to have lost more weight by now but if that's my focus then I feel disappointment.   I focus on HEALTH and can feel so many changes in that regard that I'm ENTHUSIASTIC and dare I say, VIBRANT?...:)

So as I write this, I'm drinking a quart of green water. I'm super addicted to drinking "Green Light" in the mornings.  It is packed with so many greens that I'm not going to write them down and a hint of mint and I start everyday getting in my greens!   I'm write more about that later....
